Senior Legal Counsel

Axiom, the leading provider of on-demand legal talent globally, is seeking a senior corporate lawyer at Special Counsel level to provide proactive, practical and pragmatic legal and governance support across a global business. The successful candidate will have a broad corporate background with experience across APAC/ANZ financing, corporate paperwork and intercompany arrangements, ideally with exposure to ASX- and NASDAQ-listed environments. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity commencing in October/November, with a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

Responsibilities:

• Provide proactive, practical and commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of corporate, commercial and governance matters, supporting the business in managing day-to-day legal requirements as well as more complex strategic matters.
• Lead and advise on APAC/ANZ financing activities, including the preparation, review and negotiation of relevant legal documentation, ensuring transactions are appropriately structured and managed from a legal and risk perspective.
• Manage corporate paperwork and documentation, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements, board materials, resolutions and other corporate documents required to support the business.
• Advise on and manage intercompany arrangements across multiple jurisdictions, working with internal stakeholders and international teams to ensure agreements are commercially appropriate and legally compliant.
• Independently manage a diverse portfolio of legal matters at Special Counsel level, exercising sound judgement and taking ownership of matters from initial advice through to completion with minimal supervision.
• Provide legal and governance support across the global business, working with stakeholders across Australia, the US, Singapore and Europe and advising on matters including supply chain, commercialisation and new product initiatives.

Requirements:

Role Requirements

• Senior corporate lawyer at Special Counsel level with the ability to independently manage a broad range of legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Strong corporate and commercial experience, with exposure to APAC/ANZ financing, corporate documentation, intercompany arrangements and governance.
• Experience working within complex, multinational or listed-company environments, ideally with exposure to ASX and/or NASDAQ-listed organisations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide practical, commercially focused advice across a global business and work effectively with teams across Australia, the US, Singapore and Europe.
