As an Axiom data privacy & cybersecurity lawyer, you'll engage in high-impact work across multiple industries while enjoying the flexibility to shape your career on your own terms, including:
Advising on compliance with GDPR, CCPA, FTC regulations, EU ePrivacy, and emerging privacy laws across global jurisdictions. You'll develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs, conduct privacy impact assessments, respond to regulatory inquiries, and guide clients through complex multi-jurisdictional privacy requirements. Your work ensures clients confidently navigate the evolving privacy landscape while mitigating regulatory risk and building trust with consumers.
Managing data breach investigations, incident response planning, and crisis management for cybersecurity events. You'll coordinate breach notifications to regulators and affected individuals, manage vendor and third-party security incidents, assess legal obligations following security events, and develop incident response protocols. Your strategic guidance helps clients respond swiftly and effectively while minimizing legal exposure and reputational harm.
Developing data sharing agreements, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, information security policies, and data protection frameworks. You'll draft personal information data protection agreements, create data retention and deletion policies, advise on procedure gaps and security risks, and establish vendor data processing agreements. Your counsel helps organizations build robust data governance structures that support business operations while protecting sensitive information.
Building enterprise-wide privacy programs, conducting risk assessments, training stakeholders on privacy obligations, and advising on emerging technologies including AI, machine learning, and biometric data. You'll serve as a strategic business partner on product development, M&A due diligence for privacy risks, marketing compliance, and privacy-by-design principles. Your expertise drives business value by identifying opportunities to leverage data responsibly while maintaining compliance.
