Axiom is looking for a Payments & Regulatory Legal Consultant to advise the business on payments, financial services regulation, and regulatory risk. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide legal and regulatory advice on payment services, payment products, e-money, digital wallets, card schemes, merchant acquiring, money movement, and related financial services.
  • Advise on applicable licensing and regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Support new product launches, market expansion, partnerships, and changes to payment flows from a legal and regulatory perspective.
  • Interpret and monitor developments in payments and financial services legislation, regulations, regulatory guidance, and enforcement trends.
  • work with regulators and MAS, ensure that they are compliant to all regulations

 

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a payments focused role, with traditional MAS-regulated banking experience

  • Experience in financial services, payments, fintech, banking, or a related regulatory practice.
  • Strong understanding of payment services regulation and financial services regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience advising on payment products, fintech business models, financial institutions, or regulated technology businesses.
  • Strong commercial drafting and contract negotiation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business advice.
  • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
