Compliance Manager (Environment and Construction)
Australia - Sydney
Axiom, the leading provider of on-demand legal talent globally, is seeking a skilled compliance professional, with expertise in the construction and development industry, to support our client, a leading Australian property developer in a full-time, long-term role based in the Sydney metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable property, building, safety, and regulatory requirements, including the Building Code of Australia (BCA), state legislation, and local council regulations.
- Coordinate and conduct routine property inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments, identifying and resolving non-compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Manage essential services and maintenance compliance programs, including fire safety certifications, electrical compliance, and WHS/OHS obligations.
- Oversee the procurement, scheduling, performance, and compliance of external contractors and service providers.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to minimize operational and regulatory risk across the property portfolio
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in compliance, facilities management, property management, building operations, or a related field within the real estate sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian building regulations, BCA/NCC requirements, WHS legislation, and state-specific compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing audits, inspections, contractor performance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
