Food and Regulatory Lawyer
US - Remote
We are currently seeking a Food Regulatory Counsel for an internationally recognized food and beverage company.
Responsibilities:
- FDA/USDA Compliance (FSMA, FDCA, facility inspections, enforcement actions, and product recalls).
- Safety (GRAS and NDIs, Prop 65, HACCP, pesticide residues, packaging assessments).
- Product and claim development, including ingredient assessments.
- Regulatory and labeling requirements.
- Competitor challenges including before the NAD and courts.
- Litigation support on false advertising cases and other matters.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Legal department’s functional priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Experience advising clients on FDA/USDA regulatory compliance and enforcement matters, preferably at an AmLaw200 firm or F500 company.
- Ability to evaluate scientific and safety data and information to support ingredient safety assessments and claims substantiation.
