Technology Lawyer

We are currently seeking Technology Lawyers to work with our clients at some of the world’s largest technology, financial services, consumer goods, retail, and professional services companies.

The ideal candidate will have experience advising businesses on technology-related legal matters, with a background in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence (AI); cloud, SaaS and software licensing/technology transactions; product counsel; or advertising technology (AdTech). Candidates do not need experience across all areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel on a range of technology, digital product, AI, and commercial matters, partnering with legal, product, engineering, sales, marketing, and other business teams.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate technology transactions, including SaaS, cloud, software licensing, technology services, data, platform, and other technology-related agreements.
  • Advise on AI development, deployment, and use, including AI contracting, governance, product considerations, and evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide product counsel throughout the product lifecycle, advising on legal and regulatory considerations related to the development, launch, and operation of technology and digital products.
  • Advise on advertising technology and digital advertising matters, including AdTech platforms, data use, digital marketing technologies, and related commercial and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of legal experience in one or more of the following areas: AI; cloud, SaaS and software licensing/technology transactions; product counsel; or advertising technology, preferably with in-house experience.
  • Experience advising technology or business teams and/or drafting and negotiating technology-related commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory considerations affecting technology, digital products, data, and emerging technologies.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

Compensation:

The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $114,000-250,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $64,000-201,000 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.  Employees may be eligible for additional benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and PTO; flexible work arrangements; and professional development opportunities and tools.
