Employment Lawyer

We are currently seeking an Employment Lawyer to support Axiom clients across a broad range of industries and complex UK, EMEA and international employment law matters. In this role, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on contentious and non-contentious UK employment law, employee relations, workplace investigations, senior exits, settlement agreements, TUPE, redundancy and restructuring matters, while also supporting EMEA and global employment projects in partnership with HR, legal, commercial, procurement and senior business stakeholders across leading global organisations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on UK employment law matters, including employee relations, performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, senior exits, redundancies, restructurings, settlement agreements and day-to-day HR advisory issues.
- Advise on sensitive and high-profile employment matters, including workplace investigations, whistleblowing complaints, misconduct, discrimination, harassment, bullying, senior employee issues and complex terminations across UK, EMEA and international workforces.
- Support HR, legal and business stakeholders on EMEA and international employment matters, including cross-border workforce issues, employment policies, training initiatives, change management, risk management and employment-related regulatory considerations.
- Draft, review and negotiate employment-related documentation, including employment contracts, retention agreements, transfer arrangements, settlement agreements, senior executive contracts, policy documents and employment contract templates across key jurisdictions.
- Partner with teams on employment-related contractual matters, including personnel-related clauses, health and safety obligations, workforce risk, outsourcing arrangements, TUPE considerations and customer-facing commercial agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer eligible to practise in the UK, or equivalent overseas qualification with strong relevant UK employment law experience.
- Demonstrated experience advising on UK employment law matters, including employee relations, performance management, grievances, disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, terminations, redundancies, restructurings and settlement agreements.
- Experience advising corporations, in-house legal teams, HR teams or senior business stakeholders on complex and sensitive employment issues, either in-house or through a leading law firm.
- Strong exposure to contentious and non-contentious employment matters, EMEA and international employment law, cross-border advisory work, employment policies, workforce risk, TUPE, senior exits, discrimination, harassment and whistleblowing issues.
- Excellent commercial awareness, stakeholder management skills, judgement, attention to detail and the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused legal advice in fast-paced, sensitive and international environments.
