Client FAQ

What's the background of a typical Axiom Global Australia lawyer?

Axiom lawyers are top tier trained with a broad mix of in-house commercial experience. We also have lawyers with a more specialist skill set who have also worked in-house. Globally, Axiom has over 3,400 lawyers with F500 experience and over 1,000 lawyers with AmLaw100 experience. Our lawyers have an average PQE of 15 years.

Do I have to keep your lawyer for a set period of time?

No. Secondments are flexible and the duration is up to you. Secondments can be lengthened or shortened easily if your needs change.

How much lead time do you need to provide an Axiom Global Australia lawyer?

We'll work with whatever lead time you have. We know the reality of commercial projects and deals. The more notice we have, the better we can ensure we have the right lawyer at the right time.

Do I have to manage your lawyer?

We encourage you to provide feedback and direction where needed, but our lawyers are our employees and we’re here to support them and you whenever you need.

What is a secondee?

A secondee is a person who temporarily joins the team of an alternative organization to lend capacity, provide insight or gain experience, without becoming a permanent member of that organization.

What is a secondee lawyer?

A secondee lawyer is a lawyer who temporarily joins the in-house legal team of an organization to help with a specific project, provide specialty knowledge or to offer additional capacity. Traditionally those in private practice would become secondee lawyers to gain commercial experience early in their careers, however legal secondments are now available to lawyers during any stage of their career to gain more flexibility and to broaden their skillsets.

Who is the "employer" of a secondee?

Typically, the employer remains responsible for compensating the seconded employee during the secondment. In the case of Axiom Global Australia, we remain the employer of the secondee lawyer for the duration of the engagement.

Starting your journey with a hand-picked lawyer or team takes only four simple steps:

  1. Set up a consultation with the Axiom team
