We cover 60+ legal areas of focus lacross 30+ industries. Our network not only includes lawyers, but also paralegals and legal professionals specializing in Legal Operations, Compliance, Data Privacy and Investigations.
We typically place legal professionals within a week. Once you create an account, you will be able to see talent matches within 5 minutes and set up interviews for as soon as tomorrow.
If the lawyer does not work out, we will work with you to offer a suitable replacement. Given the timing and expense you have incurred, your Axiom contact will work with you and internal teams to find an agreed upon financial resolution for your investment and time.
Axiom’s typical hourly rates are between $150 and $350 USD depending on the number of hours per week and the talent's practice area. Our rates are significantly lower than traditional law firms because we don't have profit-per-partner models or expensive real estate overhead. You will receive Axiom's rates for the legal professional along with their bios in your matches, and that number includes both their hourly rate and Axiom’s portion. There are no hidden or additional costs.
Yes, we offer both reserved hours (minimum 10 hours/week) and ad-hoc/as-needed arrangements. “Reserved” engagements guarantee a minimum number of hours per week, and most commonly clients opt for at least 20 hours/week, as that is where you'll see the greatest cost savings. Ad-hoc engagements are most commonly set up for 5-10 hours per week, though you are not locked into a minimum. Engagements must be set up for at least 30 days, but you can adjust hours based on workload or seasonal needs or end an engagement with just 10 business days' notice.
Lawyers and legal professionals join Axiom for a variety of reasons, including access to our client base, diversity of work, flexibility to take more extended time off between engagements, ability to work part-time, and ability to live where they want. Most of our legal talent are not interested in climbing the career ladder but desire to get back to hands-on legal practice, and many do not mind more “junior” work. In fact, our clients appreciate having more experienced legal professionals that can get the work done faster with minimal supervision.
Their hourly rates are based on their years of experience, field of law, and where they live, however even our most senior legal professionals' rates are still a fraction of the cost of working with attorneys from most large law firms.
Because Axiom is not a law firm, bar requirements state that Axiom legal talent be supervised by an actively licensed attorney while on engagement with our clients. Most commonly, this would be the client’s in-house counsel, however in some cases we can also work with their outside law firm.
Once you've selected the legal professional you want to engage, you will sign an Engagement Letter and a Scope of Services. You will receive monthly invoices through email or your e-billing platform.
