Large language models (LLMs) promise to revolutionize the practice of law. This continuing legal education course is the first in a linked series of three which aims to teach all members of the profession what they need to understand how LLMs can be used in their current work and how they will change the entire way that law is practiced.

Part 2 focuses on legal use cases and prompt engineering for lawyers. It covers how to choose the appropriate LLM for various types of legal problems, how to get the best completions from models by understanding the nature of a prompt, and what are the best practices in legal prompting. All of the instruction is based on the scientific studies on improving prompt completions. At the end of the course, participants will be able to prompt LLMs effectively and identify specific legal use cases.
