Large language models (LLMs) promise to revolutionize the practice of law. This continuing legal education course is the first in a linked series of three which aims to teach all members of the profession what they need to understand how LLMs can be used in their current work and how they will change the entire way that law is practiced.

Part 3 focuses on the effect of LLMs on the legal workplace and on their risks in legal settings. It covers business studies on productivity increases from LLMs, and the effect of this on society, the legal profession, law firms, the in-house function, and even the billable hour. It then reviews the various risks that LLMs place on legal practice and how these can be mitigated. It concludes with observations about the future of the legal profession in the era of LLMs.
