Market Access Lawyer - Pharmaceutical Industry

We are currently seeking experienced Market Access Lawyers to work with leading pharmaceutical companies.
Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, business‑oriented legal and compliance advice on market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies for pharmaceutical and biologic products.
- Advise on government pricing and reporting (e.g., Medicaid Best Price, AMP, ASP, 340B, VA/FSS) and the impact of commercial contracting strategies on those obligations.
- Support coverage, coding, and reimbursement initiatives with market access, HEOR, trade/channel, and pricing teams.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of market access–related agreements, including:
- PBM, payer, and GPO agreements
- Wholesaler, specialty pharmacy, and distribution agreements
- Discount, rebate, and value‑based/outcomes‑based contracts
- Consulting, advisory board, master services, and data‑sharing agreements related to market access activities
- Counsel on the design and implementation of patient support programs, co‑pay assistance, and related arrangements, with attention to anti‑kickback and False Claims Act risk.
- Partner with commercial, medical, regulatory, and compliance teams to ensure that access‑related strategies, communications, and materials comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry codes.
- Stay current on U.S. federal and state laws, regulations, and enforcement trends impacting market access, pricing, reimbursement, and interactions with payers, PBMs, and health care professionals.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm and/or in‑house with a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical company, with a significant focus on market access, pricing, reimbursement, and/or government price reporting.
- Experience drafting and negotiating PBM, payer, GPO, wholesaler, rebate, and other market access–related agreements.
- Prior experience counseling on legal issues relating to advertising and promotion, scientific exchange, patient support programs, and interactions with health care professionals and payers.
- Strong knowledge of, and experience advising on, statutes, regulations, and guidance applicable to commercial and market access activities, including:
- FDCA and FDA regulations and guidance
- Federal and state anti‑kickback statutes and beneficiary inducement rules
- OIG guidance documents and advisory opinions
- False Claims Act
- PhRMA Code and relevant industry standards
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, risk‑based contracting and access strategies.
- Efficient multitasker with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently and cross‑functionally with market access, commercial, medical, regulatory, compliance, and finance teams.
- Positive, solutions‑oriented mentality and willingness to tackle new and evolving business needs in a fast‑paced environment.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in your state of primary residence.
Compensation, Benefits & Location:
This role offers a range of highly competitive compensation starting at $130,000 and benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more. Axiomites predominately work remotely, with the exception that some clients require on-site presence.
