Challenge

Development and construction firm needed to evaluate intellectual property (IP) portfolio in order to protect their proprietary designs.

The firm’s legal department did not have any IP attorneys in-house with enough experience to manage the work, and hiring a law firm for the engagement would have been overly expensive.

Approach

Axiom deployed a senior attorney who has spent 19+ years practicing IP law, including experience as a former partner at an AmLaw 100 firm and multiple roles in-house. Working closely with the firm’s legal department, the Axiom attorney developed an approach to help the company assess and protect their intellectual property. He evaluated and registered multiple trademarks and copyrights. He also provided guidance on which content the company should avoid using in its promotional materials in order to ensure it does not infringe on competitors’ IP.
