Axiom is on a mission to change the way attorneys work. We're a new kind of legal services firm that offers our attorneys a self-directed practice and the opportunity for a more satisfying life. Click here for a 60-second glimpse of a short film recently made about the Axiom Attorney experience.

Tom Lee, a newcomer to the Bay Area, joined our firm shortly after his coast-to-coast move in July. After graduating from Columbia undergrad and Yale Law, Tom practiced at Davis Polk in New York as a corporate securities associate. Three years later, he joined Manatt Phelps to focus on M&A transactions, as well as broaden his corporate experience. As years passed, Tom and his wife decided it was time for real change. They found the pull of California’s mild weather, beautiful scenery and balanced priorities irresistible. Tom quickly embraced his new surroundings and his career at Axiom, joining the firm just days after landing in San Francisco. He is currently working on a full-time engagement with Cisco in their Channels group, negotiating complex sales licensing agreements. Tom's spare time is consumed with writing... he's professionally published 4 stories so far! His most recent short story “Karmic Perfection” is being published this fall in the American Literary Review.

Sorry Kermit, but “being green” can be easy.  The convenient truth is, more of us are repenting for our polar ice cap-melting ways by making more eco-friendly choices about the things we buy and the food we eat.  So, whether you’re already a member of the eco-rati or if you’ve just discovered what those blue plastic bins are for, here are some eco-friendly “make time” ideas you may not have thought about:

Guilt-free shopping has been re-defined thanks to Branch, an eco-friendly designer housewares store in the Mission that sells pieces made from materials that are somehow organic, non-toxic, bio-degradable, re-cycled or renewable.  Who could possibly suffer from buyer’s remorse when the cute chaise lounge you just bought at Branch helped stop deforestation in Asia?  That’s a better deal than buy one get one free!

If all this social consciousness has made you a tad hungry, fill up on veggie burgers, tempeh and enough “Homegrown” soy and grain dishes to make even Moby ask for seconds at the Feel Real Organic Vegan Café in the Sunset.  But make sure you keep your eyes peeled because meat isn’t the only thing missing at Feel Real; also absent is any kind of visible outside signage. Don’t worry, the line of hungry vegans outside will tip you off.  Wasn’t that easy?  Now Al Gore won’t come after you.
