Axiom is on a mission to change the way attorneys work. We're a new kind of legal services firm that offers our attorneys a self-directed practice and the opportunity for a more satisfying life. Click here for a 60-second glimpse of a short film recently made about the Axiom Attorney experience.

Rob Donaldson, one of our leap-of-faith-taking pioneers, joined Axiom's California office even before there was a California office! Having always had a hearty appetite for adventure, Rob clerked for a year after law school before packing up and moving to Korea to practice as a commercial lawyer at Kim & Chang, Korea’s leading international law firm. A few years and a whole lot of kimchi later, Rob returned to California to join General Instrument as AGC and then Gateway Computers as Senior Counsel. At Axiom, Rob got the West Coast practice off to a great start with a successful engagement at Sun Microsystems and is currently working on a second engagement with a start-up company founded by former Nokia engineers. Though we’re happy to have him back on native soil, it’s clear Rob still misses Asia since he can be seen enjoying a variety of cuisines with the chopsticks he keeps with him at all times. Since that sounds a little too “Seinfeld” to us, we know who’s first on the list to head east (west?) if Axiom opens up an office in Asia.

Axiom is growing and we find our best people through personal referrals. So, if you know attorneys who might be right for our firm, please don’t be shy… help us spread the word.

So, it’s February, and if you’re like us, the dreary gray skies and ho hum cultural calendar have had you tucking into chocolate-based foods and exerting as little aerobic energy as possible (that one time you went to the gym doesn’t count). If you’re looking for another chance to make good on your resolutions and add some color to your life, you’re in luck: the Chinese New Year is here with a month of celebratory events in tow.

Dying for Dim Sum? You can get it (and then some) at the Chinese New Year Carnival, a daily street fair running from February 15th to March 4th on Walter U. Lum Place. If you’re a history buff, check out the famous night-illuminated Parade on the evening of March 3rd anywhere between Second & Market and Kearny & Jackson. (Little-known Asian American factoid: the Parade and Carnival make up the largest celebration of Asian culture outside of Asia and have been going on since the 1800s.)

Feeling urban and urbane? The San Francisco Symphony’s got your ticket to their Chinese New Year Concert on February 24th. But if it’s the greenery of the outdoors you’re looking for, head to the Conservatory of Flowers and check out the incredible Floral Display of botanical wonders before March 4th. Or better yet, grab your pipe and deerstalker cap and join the Treasure Hunt on March 3rd, which covers a one square mile playing area in Chinatown, North Beach and Telegraph Hill.

The Year of the Bore? Not on our watch.
