life before axiom: Partner, Fish & Richardson; Federal Circuit Clerk; Boalt Hall
something you should know: I spent part of my upbringing in Iran and Saudi Arabia - my father was an engineer in oil infrastructure. I experienced globalization before it was even a word in our lexicon.
i became an attorney... by accident! A friend of mine asked me to take the LSAT with her so she’d have someone nearby to calm her nerves. She’s now an international corporate lawyer.
i’m especially proud of: My bilingual 3-year-old daughter and my 12-year-old son who’s a carnivorous plants expert.
if i weren’t an attorney: I could see myself opening a catering company. I really like throwing parties and cooking for other people.

It’s fairly well-known (paging Ms. Coppola…) that the French despised Marie Antoinette for her lavish spending and decadent lifestyle— a couple centuries later, we love her for it. People claimed she was a greedy, spoiled princess queen; we think she was simply misunderstood.
Going on now through February is our favorite kind of double-header (pun intended): Sunday brunch and a culturally enriching exhibition, both at the breathtaking Legion of Honor. The prix fixe 3-course brunch (cranberry mimosas, pumpkin spice muffins + entrée + dessert… who needs cake with that decadent feast?) includes museum admission and is accompanied by the Philharmonica Baroque Orquestra to get you in the proper royal mood.
So many myths and mysteries surround Marie and the excess that led her to the guillotine (many of which, we’ll have you know, are half-truths and exaggerations)—now’s your chance to go back in time and see things through her notoriously discerning eyes. Get to know the real Marie vis-à-vis the almost 90 exquisite and immaculately upheld pieces from the Petit Trianon, the small chateau at Versailles given to her by her equally-notorious husband, Louis the XVI, upon her accession to the throne. Marie used the Petit Trianon as a private retreat that reflected her personal style rather than the one imposed by the royal court of Versailles, so those who view this exhibit truly are seeing things from her perspective. A Marie lover or a hater, one thing’s for sure: she had undeniably fabulous taste and a great eye for beauty... come see for yourself.
