If there’s one thing we love more than merry, fun-loving people singing and dancing in lederhosen, it’s participating in the revelry ourselves. Lucky for us, Oktoberfest is almost here! Established in 1810 as a gigantic wedding party by the Bavarian King Ludwig I and his beautiful bride Princess Theresia (they invited the whole town), Oktoberfest celebrates hearty meals and drinking lagers out of liter steins while standing on picnic tables. In short — our kind of Sunday. On October 7th, between 10am and 6pm, forget watching football and join the festivities on 3rd Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets. Bring your neighbor, your kids, your dog… come one, come all and come on an empty stomach (it’s Oktoberfest’s only pre-requisite).

Not ready to go home once the NYPD starts closing up shop? Follow the crowds to one of these classic New York biergartens - DOWNTOWN: Loreley on Rivington between Christie and Bowery; MIDTOWN/WEST: Hallo Berlin on 10th Ave. & 45th St.; QUEENS: Bohemian Hall Beer Garden on 24th Ave. & 29th St.

Tap into your inner Germanophile and make the most of the last days of daytime dining, drinking and dancing al fresco. Makes us hungry for Wienerschnitzel and sauerkraut just thinking about it. Or maybe just that lager.

We’ve scouted the world wide web so you don’t have to! Check out our overview of legal happenings across the blogosphere in the Axiom Blawg Roll, the most recent addition to our website.

something you should know: I used to race motocross.
biggest difference between working in ny vs. london: It’s truly an international experience. Today, I worked on five different transactions; every one of them involved a different country. Not to mention the fact that at any given moment I can walk around my floor and hear six different languages.
what i love most about london: Access to Europe. Last weekend I went to Spain … left work at 5:30pm and was drinking Rioja in Barcelona by 11:30!
