Life before Axiom: Heineken; Canon; Computer Associates
Something you should know: I’m a rock chick. My husband is a musician and I sing with the band every once in a while. I may not be American Idol bound, but I can definitely dress the part when I’m out there!
Most rewarding career moment: Becoming AGC at Heineken – it was challenging and didn’t come without frustrations, but there was a bar in the office so at the end of the day you could always count on a cold one.
If you could be anywhere, it would be… In Italy with my husband. I went there in high school and fell in love with it, and I’ve been dying to share the experience (the architecture, the people, the culture) with him ever since.

While some New Yorkers opted to take part in the 5 boro bike tour a couple of weeks ago, there are those of us in search of a different kind of adventure. Those who prefer the sort of tour that requires little physical effort beyond swiping a metro card, ordering lunch or sipping the beverage of your choice. If you find yourself in this category, read on.
Hop on the 5 train and head to the Bronx where you can start your “tour” with The Black Whale’s all-you-can-eat buffet brunch. Enjoyed from their weeping willow and maple tree-filled rear garden, their generous portions are sure to leave you stuffed.
Think you can find room for something sweet to balance the savory brunch? Head south to The Lemon Ice King of Corona in Queens where you can treat yourself to a heavenly Italian ice while watching the nearby bocce games. And once you’ve eaten your way through two boroughs, why not even the score by heading to the Midtown Tennis Center where (for a mere $22!) instructors will work with newbies and vets alike on the stroke of the week.
And while tourists fill the overly-priced sunset cruises, you can cool down post-tennis by hopping on the decidedly more interesting Staten Island ferry which will deliver the same breathtaking views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty at no cost. You’ll love it so much, you’ll want to turn around immediately and enjoy the views from the return trip but the Chinese Scholar’s Garden (the first of its kind in the US) is worth a stay. Once back on the island of Manhattan, take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and celebrate your tour of New York with a Brooklyn Brew and slice from Grimaldi’s.
Finish time... 7:16:05. Not bad. |
