Regis and Kelly. Times Square and tourists. Humidity and NYC summers. Some things just undeniably go together… whether we like it or not. We can’t arm you against the first two but we think we’ve got just the tool for your annual battle against the city heat: The Axiom Summer Guide.

If you’re brave enough to get active, there’s a weekly dancing festival. But for those of you who lack the Fred Astaire ambitions, there’s a listing for getting zen at summer yoga or relaxing with a picnic by a waterfall (within city limits!). If getting out of the 5 boroughs is more your thing, make an Alcatraz-worthy escape from the city to Newport, Long Island or any one of the weekend trips we’ve researched (drinking wine in a vineyard counts as research, doesn’t it?).

Whether this August finds you heading outdoors, out of town or merely out and about, our guide is sure to have something for you. Click here to check it out in its entirety.

Life before Axiom: Citco; Fried Frank; Georgetown Law
Childhood ambition: To become an interior designer. Luckily, I haven’t abandoned my love for aesthetics. In fact, I’m pursuing image consulting and fashion design at FIT.
Something you should know: Someday I’d like to own an elephant. Ok, maybe not own, but I can’t think of anything more beautiful than these gentle giants and I fully expect those around me to indulge me in my obsession.
If could be anywhere, it would be… On a beach. Better yet… exploring in the Galapagos Islands.
I became an attorney because: I wanted to affect change and believe that law sets the mark and tone for the most important decisions whether in the private or public sector.
Life at Axiom: Lehman Brothers; Citigroup; Blackrock

We’ve scouted the World Wide Web so you don’t have to! Check out the Axiom Blawg Roll, our overview of legal happenings across the blogosphere.

Highlights from this month's issue include...

"Did We Say August? See You in October."
Thanks to a worsening economy, law firms don’t have enough work for the lawyers already on their payrolls, let alone first-year associates.

"GC’s Struggle With Value Over Brand in Legal Services."
A debate as to whether GCs want genuine innovation in the way BigLaw provides services is underway.

"Does Outsourcing Raise Confidentiality Issues?"
A firm seeks a federal court ruling on whether the outsourcing of legal services compromises constitutional rights.
