Don’t know what to do with yourself now that you’re back in the city on a Friday night?
Well, apart from the obvious recommendation of exploring the South Kensington pubs, may we suggest starting your evening off with a bit of cultural education at the V&A Museum? Their lively Friday Evening Talk series features many an accomplished folk. We’d like to highlight two notable characters in particular.
On 12 September take a trip to the other side of the world without the need for a passport as author Joe Kerr takes attendees on a sociocultural tour of Detroit, Michigan. From Motown to motorcars, Detroit has made some impressive contributions to the music and automobile industries, and Kerr is a certified expert on the topic.
Alternatively, if you’re more of a self-admitted rock-and-roller, perhaps a peek into the life of Peter Saville, the famed Factory Records Creative Director, is more your style? He’ll be ‘Talking Design’ on 19 September in association with the London Design Festival. See, lectures can be fun!

Life before Axiom: Bird & Bird; Freshfields; Oxford University
If I weren't a lawyer, I would be: As a child, I wanted to be an Olympic athlete… anything sporty and clearly aiming for gold. Now my dream would be to be a travel writer. Being paid to spend time meeting different people, exploring their country and experiencing their culture sounds pretty amazing!
Something you should know: I have two completely mismatched feet. And I'm talking, really mismatched! One is a size 7 and the other is a size 5. My (unhappy) compromise? I buy a size 6.
If I could be anywhere in the world, it would be: About 50 different places because I love to travel, but I'd have to say Patagonia. Last year my husband (boyfriend at the time… we just got married!) Nick and I spent 2 months trekking through the mountains and we loved it. I'd go back tomorrow if I could!
Life at Axiom: Balderton Capital (And Vicki just recently decided to join the ranks of our internal team to head up ‘Attorney Development’ in London.)
